Simone completed her PhD in mid-2016 within the department of Psychiatry at Flinders University, South Australia. It focused on leveraging participatory design methodologies to explore the role of technology in the delivery rural youth mental health services.
She is currently a Research Scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital, working in the Partners Connected Health Innovation Human Centered Design team.
In this role, Simone helps lead the development of technology-based health innovation projects from conception through implementation and analysis. Core to her work is ensuring that the needs of patients and clinicians are integrated into the design of new health technologies, along with training and mentoring of staff and clinicians on the application of qualitative and design thinking methods to healthcare innovation projects.
