Jeremy Slaga is the Associate Vice President of Development, Operations, and Strategy for UPMC Pinnacle, an affiliate of UPMC. He is extensively involved in the areas of vendor transactions, accountable care organizations, clinical integration, healthcare antitrust associated with innovative structures and ventures, value-based purchasing, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, governance, finance and regulatory compliance. He is also well-versed in Medicare reimbursement and managed care.
An attorney by education, he regularly advises the health system on numerous issues, such as clinical integration, informatics, data analytics, the development of aligned financial incentives in the context of integrated delivery systems and health information technology, including the horizontal and vertical integration of physicians, social media and telemedicine.
Jeremy Slaga is also heavily involved in several of the health system’s executive level strategic operations. These initiatives range from the development of a clinically integrated network, merger & acquisition integration, the implementation and optimization of information technology, to other value-based care and purchasing capabilities such as; specialty program agreements, tactical & scalable growth initiatives, population health management and capitation. He also ensures operational efficiencies and quality services through quantitative monitoring of operational performance and developing/implementing action plans to secure efficient operations and meet system wide goals, many of which have already resulted in significant healthcare cost containment.
He earned his J.D., with a concentration in Healthcare, in 2006 from Suffolk University Law School, in Boston, Massachusetts, and his B.S., in 2002 from Florida State University, in Tallahassee, Florida. He is admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
